PACC TEXAS 15th AnniversaryMeeting and Recognition of Leaders in Texas

By Ryan Tejero

The Gaylord Texas Resort and Convention Center became the brightest place in Dallas when Filipino Americans from across Texas flocked to gather as one strong community. It was the 15th Anniversary of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce (PACC) that gave every FilAm a rare opportunity to learn more about their leaders and discover what the chamber of commerce does to serve others in the community. Various Filipino organizations in Texas were represented by their leaders and members. It was truly a magical evening of elegance and top-notch entertainment. One highlight of the celebration was calling out the accomplished leaders on stage to receive their plaques of recognition for their outstanding leadership and selfless contributions to PACC and to their communities. No less than the Secretary of State, Jane Nelson delivered the keynote speech.

PACC officer from Houston, Bobby Reyes on facebook stated that “Yes, Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson spoke highly of the accomplishments of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce Texas and its 5 regions over the past 15 years and looking forward to many more!”

There were many people coming from all directions to the venue. Everyone was just excited to join the anniversary gala.

One guest coming from Centerville, Thess Mangahis said “Despite arriving late to the Gala in Dallas due to unexpected heavy traffic, we still had an enjoyable evening mingling with acquaintances. We certainly enjoyed the company of our tablemates and were delighted to reconnect with some old friends whom we haven't seen for a while.”

From Dallas, TX, Eric Napule said “What a great night to remember celebrating 15 years of success and recognition of Filipino American folks who took higher roads and make an impact on our community. Special thanks to PACCTX-DFW, to each of the leaders and members who put all pieces together to make an event so successful and very inspiring.”

First timer, Star Darjuan posted on her social media, “My first time attending the Anniversary Gala of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce Texas, and what an incredible experience! Huge thanks to our amazing host Eric Napule for the kind invitation and making it such a memorable evening. From powerful conversations to networking with new faces, the night was a beautiful showcase of the vibrant and flourishing Filipino business community here in the DFW Metroplex. The energy in the room was inspiring, and what made it even more special was spending the night with great friends—Terri Enriquez Abellera Fernando Abellera Jess Gala and Chris Wycoco.”

On her facebook page, Jerlyn Mcauliffe expressed her experience in attending the event. She said, “It was nice to meet the Filipinos in media, Ryan Tejero and Bhong Zausa from One Philippines Texas News and organizers of Fiesta Ko Sa Texas, Carrollton Councilor Rowena Raroque-Watters and Gus Mercado, Founder of FILCON and one of the prime movers of the PACCTX. To My Kuya Rob Raroque, who is the President of PACC here in DFW, thank you so much for inviting us and for all your hard work. Congratulations to a very successful event po.”

Another positive feedback coming from Mae Mendoza, she said that “Prominent individuals, including founders, senior community leaders and some visitors such as the editor and owner of One Philippines Newspaper and Fiesta Ko Sa Texas, convened for a productive evening of camaraderie and networking opportunities with distinguished professionals and newcomers.”

Mel Krater in a social media post said, “At the end of our 15th year celebration, I declare this party a success! A la the Olympics! Cheers! We're like one big, happy family!”
