This is indeed a fruitful year for One Philippines! It was a year that witnessed a lot of triumphs and beautiful memories of 2024. The 16th Anniversary was definitely a huge hit with almost all Filipino American organizations in the Greater Houston are got represented and graced the event. The celebration showed One Philippines’ commitment in pursuing unity in the community. One Philippines can only grow bigger, and celebrating its anniversary means more giving back to the community.
Fiesta Ko Sa Texas this year was a huge success! There were no rooms for partners, no room for vendors and no room for sponsors. The event was packed with support from everyone in the community. Filipino organizations from far flung areas joined in to become partners. No one was left behind as One Philippines welcomed all those who genuinely expressed their collaboration with the only Filipino print media in Texas.
This year’s Miss Fiesta Ko Sa Texas was the biggest group of young Filipino Americans who showed up with their talents and wits. The potential of them becoming future leaders and influencers is evidently strong. One Philippines has a goal of creating venues where young FilAms are inspired and motivated to make their own impact. This year’s pageant will only grow and will get more exciting.
One Philippines has seen growth, the number of copies of the newspaper had dramatically increased with Seafood City’s opening. More and more Filipino Americans want to read the news and keep informed. One Philippines has also increased its correspondents by adding areas to be covered in Texas where there are more Filipinos wanting to read and be read in the paper. New advertisers had joined One Philippines and there are more to come in the near future.
