One Philippines Celebrates Monumental MilestonesA 16th Year Anniversary Presentation

Close to 30 Filipino American organizations and various leaders from non-profit and for-profit organizations from Houston, Dallas, and Beaumont joined the anniversary celebration of One Philippines held at the International Trade Center in Bellaire Blvd. in Houston. Publisher Bhong Zausa identified the many accomplishments of One Philippines to include the setting up of field correspondents in cities with heavy volume of Filipino Americans. Bhong also appealed to the audience to continue to support the projects of One Philippines as all funds are channeled to benefit school children in the Philippines.


No less than the owner of ITC, Wea Lee graced the event. In his heartwarming speech, he said “I am so proud of the Filipinos in their accomplishments. I also want to say that Filipinos are everywhere, and they are very accomplished people.”


Atty. Christian Strong, who is the owner of The Law Office of Christian Strong and Filipino Docs expressed his sincere thanks to One Philippines for the invite, and his opportunity to meet with FilAm leaders.


Husband and wife lawyers, Atty. Jim and Atty. Nimmy Narvios applauded One Philippines in its initiatives to involve everyone in the community, and to reach out to as many Filipinos across the state of Texas. The Narvios Law Firm has expressed its unwavering support to One Philippines and its commitment to build a stronger Filipino American community.


Acting Head of Post at the Philippine Consul General Office in Houston, Consul Gilbert Segarra gave a toast to One Philippines’ achievements in the past 16 years. In his speech, he said that “One Philippines is everywhere. We see them in most Filipino events. They cover the events and stories of Filipino communities. When we were in Beaumont, One Philippines was there too!”


Philippine Community Center, Inc. Chairman of the Board, Dr. Norma Mendoza thanked One Philippines for the invitation. Aside from having a great time during the event, she expressed that she was able to reconnect with long time friends in the community such as the owner of ITC, Chairman Wea Lee.

For the first time, One Philippines took the opportunity to honor its partner organizations in the forthcoming Fiesta Ko Sa Texas 2024 on August 4, 2024. Those present during the event, and given recognition were FilAm Houston Lions Club, Texas Society of Unified Thomasians, Bicol USA Houston Chapter, University of the Philippines Nursing Alumni Association Texas, University of the Philippines Alumni Association Houston Chapter and the Philippine Association of Beaumont Texas.


The celebratory dinner was served courtesy of One Philippines in an exquisite food table presentation by Jarnel’s. Community leaders were able to promote their ongoing projects and upcoming events.
