The 20th Biennial Filipino American National Historical Society’s National Conference was hosted by the Houston Chapter from July 16 - 20, 2024 at the United Way Greater Houston. Over 40 chapters from all over the U.S. including Hawaii and Alaska convened to share stories from their home state. Texan keynote speakers included filmmaker PJ Raval, The Honorable Gina Ortiz Jones, and “2022 Miss Texas” Averie BIshop. FANHS Founder and Executive Director, Dorothy Cordova, of Seattle, Washington, was in attendance. The Filipino Texan Gala at Ocean Palace on July 20th featured a performance by Freestyle Artist, Jocelyn Enriquez. The intergenerational attendees ranged from 7 to 94 years old, and conference goers commented, “this was the best FANHS conference ever!” The 21st Biennial FANHS National Conference will be hosted in Washington D.C. in 2026.
